U.S. Forest Service Sets Emergency Plan

The U.S. Forest Service has put into effect an emergency plan in the event of a possible wildfire season. 

 The plan, which was approved by the Secretary of Agriculture, includes the activation of the National Forest System's Incident Management Team, 

 the mobilization of resources, and the development of a Unified Forest Fire Management Strategy. 

As of this writing, the Soberanes Fire is 87% contained, but it's already caused massive economic damage and is expected to continue doing so for months to come. I

The U.S. Forest Service has announced an emergency plan in response to the devastating outbreak of the mountain pine beetle.

he plan includes the deployment of 2,000 personnel to help fight the beetle and restore damage to forests. 

 The cause of the outbreak is climate change, which is making the beetles more successful in reproducing. 

The emergency plan will help the Forest Service respond faster to these outbreaks and prevent significant damage to forests.
